Glenfiddich Festival Experiment


Idea

Glenfiddich Festival Experiment is a private corporate experience that takes place overlooking the Glenfiddich distillery in Dufftown, Scotland. Katah Events have been intrinsically involved in the event since its conception.

Challenges

  • Offer a full production service for the entire event, including nuts-and-bolts production, site wide power and plant machinery

  • Meet the high-specification technical needs of touring bands

  • Deliver a smooth event in the extreme Scottish weather conditions

  • Demonstrate ability and willingness to manage noise for licensing purposes

Tailored approach

  • Katah Events offered a 360-degree service, managing many essential services from one point of contact for the client

  • Worked closely with the local council, including attendance at licensing meetings, to demonstrate the technical ability to measure and control sounds

  • We provided top spec sound equipment including L-Acoustics dV-DOSC line array plus dV-SUB line array and sound engineer, as well as installing and large outdoor stage of 12 metres x 9 metres, and providing fully furnished green rooms

  • Lighting tower, production effects lighting and lighting engineer arranged

  • Site wide power package provided, with provision of generators and an on-site electrician

Delivery

  • Three Giant Tipis for a whisky lounge complete with an oak door entrance, fully furnished with all soft furnishings, lighting, décor and bars

  • Three Giant Tipis furnished for band green rooms

  • Storage tents with hard floors for pallet loading

  • Decorative and utility outdoor lighting

  • Power delivered to the whole site including campsite

  • Plant machinery including John Deer ATVs and telehandlers

  • Dedicated Production Manager

  • The event has been a great success despite the challenges of the inclement Scottish weather, and Katah Events continue to work with Glenfiddich on their events needs
